Canon: Miraculous Ladybug
Canon Point: The end of Miraculer before handing over her Miraculous.
Background: Chloe is the daughter of the Mayor of Paris and a world renowned fashion critic. One regularly spoils her, giving her anything she asks for, and the other has so rarely given her any attention that she regularly forgot her name until very recently. A pretty potent combination to make one major brat who has no idea how to interact with the world in a reasonable way.
Chloe spent her life using her father's money and power to get what she wants, be it trinkets or getting authority figures off her back. She's bullied and teased people. She's used her influence and wealth for her own gain and played saccharine sweet to people she wanted to impress because she thought they were awesome or she wanted to use them. She only has two friends and one is Sabrina whose mostly a lackey Chloe will reject if pushed. Not that she doesn't care about Sabrina, but it's a balancing act between her own pride and her care.
However, there is another friend that Chloe at least largely tries to do right by and that's Adrien. They met as toddlers and being largely alone, became rather close friends. While Chloe will occasionally use him to improve her status and lie about how he feels about her, she tries not to do anything that might actually hurt him. She was also the only one supportive in his life about his desire to attend public school.
Then the Akuma's start. A supervillain named Hawk Moth appears and would regularly Akumatize people having bad days, using their negative emotions to turn them into monsters. Then Ladybug and Chat Noir would arrive to purify them and save the day. The thing is, Chloe was incredibly good at causing negative emotions. She was even involved in the first Akuma and became one of the first people that Ladybug directly saved. Which lead to Chloe becoming a rather big fan of her.
For a while, Chloe doesn't change her behavior. She still bullies people and even tries seriously ruin a few lives without a second thought, but she's not without some goodness. Her care for Adrien is genuine and isn't threatened by her pride. Her admiration of Ladybug is true and strong, even wanting to be her for a while. Again and again, Chloe causes Akuma's, refusing to take any responsibility for them or any of the harm she does save for a brief moment where she forgives Sabrina for getting akumatized. She's also akumatized herself, after hearing Ladybug speak badly of her through a security camera, but it just shows how great her admiration is when she easily forgives her after the fact.
This continues until the day Adrien got sick of her attitude and gives her an ultimatum: be nice or they're no longer friends. Something that Chloe is absolutely terrified of, to the point her butler, who has some paternal feelings for her, has to coach her with a teddy bear to be nicer. And she does try her best and is fairly terrible at it as she throws a party. However, while her attempts to be nice are not the best, it's the moments where Chloe isn't trying she shows how good she can be.
When a possessed Chat Noir is about to hit Ladybug with a destructive touch, she throws herself into the fray to get them separated. When Ladybug leads Chat away, she follows and actually helps defeat the Akuma. At the end, Adrien lets go of his ultimatum and Chloe goes back to being a rude brat, but after this time, her rate of causing Akumas goes down significantly.
The next Akuma that hits Chloe hard is her teacher, Bustier. She becomes a kissing zombie, obsessed with teaching Chloe how to love. Throughout the whole episode, she's refusing to take blame for the situation that caused the Akuma, and watches her classmates get picked off one by one, a good number of them even trying to protect her directly. By the end of the episode, Chloe apologizes for causing it and throws herself in the way to protect Ladybug again. Afterwards, she apologizes for forgetting Bustier's birthday because she wanted to get her a gift too.
Then her mother comes back to Paris. And Chloe is desperate for her recognition. She copies her mother, she reinforces whatever she says, she does anything and everything to make her happy and her mother barely acknowledges her, even 'firing' her once. Even as she's Akumatized, she just uses Chloe as a servant. However, when her mother is an Akuma, and turns Adrien into a glitter statue, Chloe doesn't take the chance to run away. Instead she does her best to pacify and distract Style Queen to protect Ladybug and try to find a way to help Adrien. And ultimately gets turned to glitter herself for her efforts.
During the Style Queen episode, however, Ladybug lost a Miraculous on the Tower. Which Chloe finds and discovered it's the Bee Miraculous. She keeps it to herself for a little bit, up until her mother both acknowledges and offers Marinette to come to New York for her to study fashion. All with only a few minutes of interaction. Something that hits Chloe hard because Marinette is her greatest rival-former-victim. In a fit of rage and pain, Chloe reveals the Miraculous, and the kwami to those present, and transforms on TV. She then tries to be a superhero to show how exceptional she is, but when no disasters happen, she manufactures one herself with a train.
It doesn't go well and Ladybug figures her out, and calls her out. Again on TV. With the pain from her mother's treatment and Ladybug yelling at her, she's akumatized into Queen Wasp. She causes problems for the duo, and Chat has to use his power to break her Miraculous to free her. Seeing it broken has an effect on Chloe, perhaps a realization of just how much she messed up. Once it's fixed, the news finds them and her mother on skype yet again says how unexceptional her daughter is. Chloe asks for another chance from Ladybug.
Both Ladybug and Chat Noir show her understanding and says how she can be better, by starting with handing over the Miraculous. She finally does, apologizing for her actions and while she's saddened, it has an affect. Then Marinette shows up at her door, drags her to her mother, and proceeds to tell her how exceptionally mean Chloe is. Which works to get her mother's approval! Which....mileage varies on that being a good thing.
Since the next time Chloe has a falling out with her classmates, she tells her mother and once they find her father can't shut down schools or banish people, decide to leave Paris. Chloe and her mother tell off her father and decides to move to New York. At the threat of losing his daughter since the Mayor can't leave, he's akumatized. Chloe manages to get away from her father's Command Powers, and eventually runs into Ladybug. Whose looking for help because Chat Noir wasn't so lucky.
And finally fully and completely admits fault. She admits she hurt her father, she admits that she's the one responsible, that she wants to leave because she has no friends, she's useless. It's the first time where Chloe admits how she truly sees herself. And it's with that honesty, Ladybug gives Chloe the Bee to help stop her father. And she does pretty well and freely and willingly hands back the Miraculous when she asks for it back. She decides to stay in Paris and the next day, she goes to school with a party being thrown in her honor for being Queen Bee. Giving her positive reinforcement that she desperately needs.
On Heroes Day, suddenly Hawk Moth is given a power up and is able to Akumatize dozens of people all at once with a horde of red butterflies. Butterflies that don't come near Chloe, confident she'll be recruited and leaves to go and try to meet Ladybug, which showed everyone else positive emotions kept the butterflies away.
Chat comes to her then and she's willing to say please to get the Miraculous despite the fact the heroes definitely need help. And when it comes to actually fighting with the team, Chloe does well. She keeps any victims being hurt, she watches her teammates back. Despite her cocky attitude, she doesn't miss a step. Up until her reakumatized parents and butler show up and emotionally compromised her enough to get possessed. When freed again, however, she's more than eager to return to Ladybug's side.
There is a difference after Queen Bee in how Chloe interacts with people. Previously she attended parties to cling to Adrien or to show up in a movie. Now she seems more willing to interact with others in parties, and even tries to join the art club, though her narcissistic streak got her mocked out. She was still a brat, still causes another Akuma or two, but she's more likely to brag about being Queen Bee than to put people down. And one time she even willingly works with Mariette, albeit it was to try and ruin Kagami's chances with Adrien. But it's still Marinette and she even says she won't tell Adrien about her crush, even if it's in the rudest way possible.
But as she watches Rena Rouge and Carapace show up more and more, Chloe starts to wonder why Ladybug won't come to her. Unaware that Ladybug is unwilling to give the Miraculous with her identity exposed. As Chloe is getting more desperate for acknowledgement from Ladybug, she ends up lashing out at her butler and Sabrina. And in her anger, Hawk Mother attempts to akumatize her.
And for the first time ever shown in canon, someone says NO. Some people have struggled against the butterfly, but no one has ever been able to outright reject it. Chloe sees herself as a superheroine. Even if Hawk Mother promises her the Miraculous, she knows it's wrong and holds tight to that part of her identity to resist the dark magic. Unfortunately, Sabrina ends up taken instead and goes around stealing the heroes power.
Chloe helps again to manipulate Miraculer and becomes Queen Bee again. She ends up going after Mayura while the other four, including a severely hurt Chat, to deal with Miraculer. Mayura manages to pin her again, and tries to temper her to the dark side again. Offering her power and what she wants and Chloe rejects the idea again. Ladybug gave her a second chance and so she's doing it in turn. She even almost gets Mayura's Miraculous before the villain gives her the slip.
Leading to a small panic episode from Chloe whose worried that Ladybug will see her as incompetent, but she goes back to help with Miraculer and even helps purify her again.
It's only then Ladybug tells Chloe she can't be Queen Bee. It makes her a target because Hawk Moth knows who she is. Chloe counters the situation could have been dealt with quicker of Ladybug had just trusted her faster. Chloe is frustrated because she knows she can be a good superheroine, she wants to be trusted, she wants to help, and it hurts Ladybug had such doubts in her. But ultimately, she's decided she's a superheroine and begins to hand over the Miraculous.
Which is when she ends up in Verens.
Personality:
In meeting Chloe, she's a haughty, self centered, brat of a girl. She knows what she wants and she expects it to be given to her without question. She finds insults almost as easy as a hello and will often be critical of people upon meeting them. And if anyone dares tell her off, she will either ignore them, or turn things around on them. Often, she won't even pay attention to people around her unless she wants something from them, even once going weeks not even learning a classmates name.
Not helping her image is her laziness and selfishness. She will make other people do work for her if she can, she will take what she wants, please and thank yous are rare words for her to say. If she sees an easy solution to something, then she will go with that, even if it's inconvenient for someone else. She hasn't done her own homework in years.
Not to mention she's spiteful. Casual insults are one thing, but if anyone actually slights her, she will strike back. Sometimes excessively, depending how mad they get her, though it should be noted its rare she actually holds a grudge. She may have a grudge on people who slight her repeatedly, but usually one offense gets one payback.
Mostly because Chloe lies to herself and is also absolutely petrified of being useless and incompetent. Chloe's selfishness and spoiled attitude easily comes from a father who will give her all she asks, and dotes on her when he has time for her. On the other hand, Chloe also has her mother, who she rarely sees, who can't remember her birthday, who will insult her on live television after she had a very obvious breakdown. And it's this woman that Chloe has chosen to mimic in hopes she'll acknowledge her.
So Chloe tells herself that she does no wrong. Her mom doesn't, so she doesn't. Everyone adores her because if everyone voted for her father and listen to her mother, then of course they must adore them and thus her. Chloe doesn't let herself think about the consequences of her actions, doesn't admit that people may be mad at her, tells herself that whatever she does is fine because she will be exceptional and that's what the exceptional do. Something that's easy for her to do because Chloe is rather childish with a childish logic. If people are fine getting dirty cooking, they're fine with it cooking. If they're hurt by her insults, they're just too thin skinned. She will suck her thumb for comfort, and act like a scolded child when called out, and has a hard time understanding how others may feel much like a young kid. She never learned real empathy.
The problem with Chloe is she's so obsessed with image, what she thinks makes a person exceptional and amazing, and then having the people closest to her enable that behavior. Her father does, her mother does, even Sabrina does. Her butler and Adrien will at times try to be a good influence, but they're often too light handed for what Chloe needs. It's only more recently with Ladybug and becoming Queen Bee and Adrien's ultimatum that Chloe has started to realize that maybe, just maybe, it's all wrong.
Really, Chloe will cling to these childish views and self lies because of that fear of not being exceptional. Of being useless and incompetent. If she never tries, if she never invests, then she never fails. So she can't be useless. It's when she's most invested in things that Chloe actually shows her fears of not doing it. She was afraid to fail Adrien's ultimatum. She was afraid to not get her mother's approval. She was afraid to be a bad superheroine.
In truth, when Chloe tries, she can do pretty well. She's still an absolute brat to deal with, rude, and sasses like no tomorrow, no one would ever call her nice. But she can be good. When Chloe was given the chance to be Queen Bee, she proved she was good at it time and again. She followed Ladybug's lead, and she acted on her own beautifully. When she worked with the team, she was quick to defend and attack without missing a beat. Still arrogant, but a more charming sort.
And she's full of courage. Chloe has faced more Akuma's than literally everyone else except for Ladybug and Chat Noir. The only ones to truly scare her were usually about to kill her outright, but most often, she's more concerned about them messing up her hair, and she will insult them like anyone else. When a swarm of Akumas attacked the school, Chloe's confidence in knowing she'd get to help showed everyone else positive emotions scared them away.
Chloe has a hard time admitting she cares about people and she's not always the best at relationships. Her friendship with Sabrina is pretty toxic, often verbally abusing her, but she does also care about her deeply and is usually miserable when she tells her to go away. She's trying to do better at that, but that's also very much a work in progress. She has much the same problem with her butler. These two are people who are close to her, but also obviously people Chloe tries to keep as more 'servants,' in her own head. Then there's Bustier who tries to be good for Chloe and tries to push her to be nicer, and Chloe wants to show her appreciation, but simply doesn't know how to most of the time. However, when it comes to people like Adrien and Ladybug, Chloe will often go above and beyond to make them happy, with Chloe trying to change for Adrien's ultimatum to be nice, and genuinely in tears for him when he was taken out of school. As for Ladybug, Ladybug is one of the few people that Chloe actually admitted she was wrong to and is desperate for her approval even more than her own parents. These two are the people she most wants to please, but also the two who could most easily devastate her, often resulting in her telling herself they adore her despite evidence to the contrary. Though recent events make her conflicted on Ladybug, but she still trusts her.
Most oddly, Chloe is actually extremely clever. When trying to keep Kagami from charming Adrien, she was able to come up with a Ladybug level plan of ridiculousness that very nearly worked and it was only because of bad luck it failed, and she's been quick to realize what a lucky charm could do.
Nothing proves Chloe's own desire to be better than the fact she said no to Hawk Moth. She saw herself as a superheroine and it would be wrong to join a supervillain. A belief she held so strongly that she did something no one else had managed. Ladybug gave Chloe a second chance, to be someone better, and Chloe wants to make good on that second chance. With difficulty, it's often two steps forward and one big step back, but she does. She's starting to mature, and starting to learn how to do empathy better, and even do things like cleaning for herself. She's causing less Akumas and is bragging more instead of putting people down. A definite start to being the person she actually wants to be.
Abilities:
Chloe as herself has no special abilities. She does have eight years of ballet training. Due to years of being the child of a politician, she knows how to manipulate, cheat, and lie. She's also pretty good at ridiculous plans.
She has an assortment of special abilities as Queen Bee, which requires her Miraculous and Kwami.
Venom: She can freeze anyone that she stings for a few minutes. Using this power means she needs to detransform and recharge Pollen's power afterwards.
Enhanced endurance, agility, and strength: Such as Queen Bee was able to try and stop a moving run away train with no harm coming to her. She couldn't stop the train, but being able to hold her position well enough to slide forward with it is still a lot of strength. She's also able to easily hop from rooftop to rooftop and run up the sides of buildings.
Instinctive combat prowess: She knows martial arts and is quite good at it.
Spinning Top: Queen Bee's weapon. Used with Venom. With an attached string, she can use it as a grappling hook for things she can't jump, spin it to zoom along the ground, or tie people up. It can also be used as a phone, camera, binoculars, rebreather, and look up things on the internet if that existed.
Miraculous, weapon, super suit are indestructible save for powerful magic meant to destroy things. Chloe could also stay transformed indefinitely as long as she never used Venom and never said the detransformation phrase.
There is a bit of a Clark Kent magic to the Miraculous to make it harder to figure out she's Queen Bee. It won't counter things like announcing it point blank as she well and truly proved.
Alignment: Aiada. Chloe is someone who wants a lot in her life and hates when others have what she can't. But when she appreciates someone, she appreciates them a whole lot. She's shown a lot of wants, admiration, likes, and obsession. She's also shown a lot of jealousy, willing to go to ridiculous lengths to get things for herself or at least keep it from others. And she's full of ambition, when she decides she wants to do something, she does it.
Other:
Chloe never handed off her Miraculous, so will be coming in with it, along with Pollen trapped inside.
Pollen is a small, hand sized creature. With a big head, small body, and antenna, looking like a strange bee fairy. Really Pollen is a Quantic God, a being who came into an existence to represent an abstract concept, hers being Subjection. Without the Bee Miraculous, Pollen would be unable to interact with the human world, and without a user, she would be stuck in the Miraculous itself until she was placed in the Miracle Box in the Guardian's home, where she could then interact with those kwami.
Pollen, like other kwamis, can float, phase through objects, won't appear on recording devices, can lift things a bit bigger than herself, and can presumably use venom herself, but with far, far less control as shown with another kwami. Pollen is also bound to listen to all orders give by her user and is unable to speak her name to anyone else.
Pollen is definitely a sidekick character, both because she's bound to an item that is in Chloe's possession, and also because she's had very little screen time to establish her own character. So far, she's a very polite kwami, addressing people by titles and being very respectful. Even when Chloe revealed Pollen in front of several people, Pollen was all too happy to do as Chloe wished without a second thought and even after being Akumatized and her Miraculous destroyed temporarily, she would still call Chloe her queen with a smile.

Emotion Sample:
It was a beautiful day for a walk in the park. Unfortunately, this corner of the park is being given a pretty wide berth. No one wants to run into a bunch of bees.
Not that they can see the bees, only hear the loud buzzing. A fact that led to someone being brave enough to venture in, only to feel a persistent stinging until they left. The fault of the sole person who is there, sitting on a bench under a tree. Chloe doesn't mind the buzzing. She's always been good at tuning out things that are annoying and the buzzing is no concern of hers right now. She isn't one for deep introspection. Seconding guessing herself and thinking her actions through. It wasn't something she ever needed to. If there was a mistake, her daddy's money would fix it or she'd blame someone else.
But when it came to her Miraculous, things were different. At least now. They hadn't been at first. She had put it on in a surge of emotion, of jealousy that Marinette of all people got her mother's approval. Then she had desperately tried to make herself look good and got possessed and the Miraculous destroyed temporarily.
If she makes a mistake, money can't fix it. And it's very likely the little creature that called her a queen would be the one to suffer.
And it was her declaring her identity on an impulse that had led to Ladybug saying she can't be Queen Bee. Ladybug had wanted to keep her safe, to not let her fight anymore. And Chloe was going to hand over the Miraculous because that was the right thing to do, the superheroine thing to do. But Ladybug isn't here, no one knows, and she has the Miraculous.
She wants to use it. She wants to listen to Ladybug. She trusts Ladybug. She's just also hurt because Ladybug had waited so long to tell her, had run around with Rena Rouge and Carapace and letting her hope. It leaves her conflicted, her own mind buzzing with self doubts and selfish desires that leads to louder and louder buzzing, and flowers in the area wilting around her. She doesn't want to be bothered, doesn't want anyone to see her doubt.
"No one has to know here," she said to herself. If the danger was being known then if she's not known, then there was no problem. She could be a superheroine. She could get better. She could be Queen Bee whenever she wanted.
She could be useful.
She looks around, the buzzing starting to quiet as she makes sure she's alone. Before finally putting the hair comb into her hair and with a familiar flash of light, Pollen appears before her.
"Hello, My Queen," she said, smiling fondly. Looking around with a curious look. "Might I ask where we are?"
"Hello, Pollen," Chloe said, smiling back. She's only gotten to talk to her a few minutes, but it's hard to not be happy to see the little creature who seems to believe in her so easily. "We're in another world. One that I'm sure would be quite grateful for Queen Bee's help with any evil forces lurking around."
Pollen looked at Chloe and her smile widened. "If that's what my Queen wishes," she said. "You are a fantastic bee."
It's such a little thing, a small affirmation, but the flowers around them start to spring back to life. "Well, of course. Queen Bee will always win in the end!"
Queen Bee was exceptional, after all.
